My interest in photography has grown by leaps and bounds with the onset of the digital age and the ease in which you and I can create visual wonders with the slightest press of a button. To me, photography has a definite rhythmic quality, an appealing photograph is just as enlightening and uplifting as the sound of that song you can't get enough of. One that takes you to another place, another time, plays with your mind and then gently brings you back. Photography is alive, photography speaks, and photography moves. Photography is a release, photography shows you that you're alive, photography shows you the way.
I'm just along for the ride.

The University of North Carolina's Army ROTC, Tar Heel Battalion, spent the first weekend in October, 2004 in Fort Pickett, Virginia (USA) on its first field training exercise of the year. As one of the photo editors for The Daily Tar Heel, the student-run newspaper on campus, I found myself with the opportunity to travel with the Battalion and spend 2 days and a night with them as they trained.
