This photo was one of the first I took with my digital camera (a Canon PowerShot G2). The cat, Cassius, is my own. On a sunny day, he'll lounge endlessly, making him a wonderful subject.
I tend to show off my photos like a grandmother flashes pictures of the grandkids, so when Mike Connors, one of the nicest and most talented people I know, told me about his free stock-photo archive (morguefile.com) I didn't hesitate to offer my pictures. Mike helped me post some of my pictures on his site and has since posted nearly 150 photos submitted by my mom and been courted to post for my dad (both of them have been photographers in Florida for nearly 20 years).
That's the story of the picture. Take a look at morguefile and get in touch with Mike if you have any photos to contribute to the site.

In large part, I grew up around photography. My parents own a postcard company in Daytona Beach, FL...a very creative business that allowed both of my parents to be photographers, copywriters, designers and businesspeople. The best part was that they encouraged me to tag along.
These days, I live in New York and work in advertising. The purchase of my digital camera really renewed my interest in photography. Pet portraits are a blast, and I'm always looking for subjects on a sunny day.
