Heavy Metal

The Lima 1925 - John M. Setzler, Jr. I have always been fascinated by trains. As a child, I spent a week each summer fishing with my grandfather and playing by the railroad tracks that passed behind his home. I could feel the ground shake beneath my feet as the trains rumbled by. I miss those days, but I remember them with my camera. The ground shaking beneath my feet and the sound pounding against my chest is alive within these photos. This series of photos was taken between July 2002 and August 2003. It includes local scenes, as well as images from railroad attractions in my area.

About John M. Setzler, Jr.

John M. Setzler, Jr. Photography is a relatively new passion for me. I have been invloved with it in some small way my entire life because my father was a professional photographer. In March 2002, I purchased a decent digital camera, and my love for photography began to flourish.

I am too "green" in this hobby to have settled into any particular themes or methods. I do have a strong affinity to black and white and duo/quadtones in my work. I seem to be attracted to shapes and textures.

Time will tell more....
