A Self Portrait in Five Still Images

These five images document a certain passage of time in my life: the start of my first “true” winter in an isolated land far away from my native Californian home and embarking on a long awaited trip to the warmer confines of the southern hemisphere. I inspire to use photography as a means of not only documenting a certain scene but also try to make sense of a new environment that I may never see or experience again.

Tech Notes
Canon G2 for the first four images. Canon A2 for the last image.

About Mark Allen Nakamura

Mark Allen Nakamura I first started to take photos when I was a kid with my first 110 camera (thanks Mom and Dad). Everywhere I travel I must bring along a camera to capture the perfect photo if it arises. I love taking photos of everything from flowers to buildings to clouds to baby pictures though sometimes I just wish I could find one subject to focus on.

I am a former Californian who used to live in Central New York where it’s overcast and snows a lot but recently relocated to Central Maine where it snows a lot but the sun shines more.
