Surf's Up, by Sean Slavin
Surf's Up

I'm really starting to focus on surfing images. I don't want to go after the standard wide angle bottom turn in full sun or the up close and personal tube shoot. Instead, I'm trying to convey a little bit of the emotion of surfing. The experience of it. The beauty of it. Hopefully, I'm getting that across. ;)

Tech Notes
I use a Canon EOS3 with Provia 100F, Velvia 50 or Velvia 100F for color and Kodak TMax 100 or TriX 400 for black & white. When I shoot from the water, I use a MW Custom surf housing (http://www.surfhousings.com).

About Sean Slavin

Me Seeing as how I'm now getting paid to squeeze the shutter, I guess that make me a professional. Yikes.

I'm getting ready to make the switch to full time photography in the coming months. Things have been progressing nicely along the business front. Along with portraits and weddings, I also do some freelance work for Surfer Magazine.
